Why I Believe in Pearler — Anshul
Updated: 3 days ago
21 and on the cusp of adulthood, I haven’t experienced enough to say I know how to make something of myself. In this ever-changing, dream-stomping, power-seeking world, I can only be certain of 4 things. My love of peanut butter, my interest in science (but not motivated enough to make a career out of it), Norway as my run away destination and Pearler.
As a university student, I’ll do “anything” for that experience because GPA won’t keep you alive when you’re out there facing the belly of the beast. Whether it be scrambling for pocket money or literally just being exposed to the industry your so destined to end up, experience is the be all and end all. But for me, my experience with Pearler was more than that, I mean yes I did — correction — do work for that itty-bitty extra cash and yes I’ve taken positions for the exposure, but this time it was different.
I don’t just believe Pearler will become something great, but I believe in the philosophy of Pearler and what the pearl stands for. Coming on board was one of the greatest decision I’ve ever made. I’ve learnt more on this job about business development and growth than university ever could.Having started as an intern, I didn’t care what Pearler was, I just wanted to finally be able to set foot in a corporate job instead of making pizzas, waiting tables and preparing coffees. That was the motivation — but motivation never lasts as many of us who’ve joined a gym, come to realise. But a belief — that’s a game changer. We all know the power of religion as history has shown, and as Google’s dictionary will say, belief is it’s interchangeable counterpart.
But our current beliefs and ideas on money are well, flawed. This money taboo that is so strongly embedded into our culture affects the very way we handle our finances - something I've come to realise.
But I wasn’t always so fortunate, that is from a mindset point of view. Because literally, I never had an issue with money. I was never poor, blessed with countless opportunities and always had a supportive backing no matter what. Yet despite all the bells and whistles, I lacked the knowledge and understanding. My financial literacy was nothing to brag about, but what’s worse is that I had no idea. Working with Pearler for just a couple weeks was enough for me to realise that. I needed to up my game and improve my financially literacy, because if I didn’t, I’d be plunged so far down that hole, no amount of money could revive me to base level grounds. Financial literacy is why Pearler is so important to me. Yes we will be the best investment platform in the market, but what Pearler stands for, advocates and imparts upon its’ users, that’s why I believe in Pearler.
